Terms

Terms of use

Last updated 23 October 2026

These terms apply when you use PatchTurtle, a free service run by Advent Digital. By running a check, you agree to them.

Using the checker

  • Only check websites you own, manage, or have permission to check.
  • Don’t automate requests, get around our limits or bot check, or use the service to build lists of vulnerable sites.
  • We may refuse or limit access if we think the service is being misused.

What the results are

PatchTurtle reads publicly visible information and compares it with published vulnerability data. The results are indicative. They can be incomplete or wrong, for example when a host has backported a fix or hides its versions. A check is not a penetration test or a security audit, and a clean result doesn’t mean a site is secure. Always confirm findings with your developer or host before acting on them.

Our responsibility

The service is free and provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for losses arising from your use of the results. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date above shows when they last changed. Questions: hello@patchturtle.com. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
